The start of a new year
Thursday January 19th
We have started the new year with our AGM held at Bearwood.
Our programme, club details and membership were considered.
This was followed by soup, cake and sausage rolls.
Sunday 12th February
Annual Church service at The Lytchett Matravers Methodist Church
15 members swelled the congregation for a lovely service with a 'Cornish' flavour.
The service ended with a rousing singing of 'Trelawney' before Coffee and biscuits which were served to a background of various choirs singing Cornish songs.
Afterwards we adjourned to the Chequers Inn for a Sunday carvery lunch.
"Happy Birhday" Lewis Tregonwell
Flag raising 14th February.
The Mayor and Mayoress attended the annual flag raising together with 8 others and a dog.
The flag was raised by the Mayor a little before 10.00 a.m.
Following this event we decamped to St Peter's Church for a small service officiated by the Rev'd Steve Parselle, around Lewis Tregonwell's grave.
A social coffee and cake in the church finished the day.
Up goes the flag and we all looked on.
Around the grave stands our president and his wife. While the Mayoress studies an inscription.
A few words from the Mayor before prayers
Unfortunately we are unable to leave the flowers on the grave because of vandals.
We place them by the font instead.
Bear Cross Lunch, Wednesday 15th March.
20 Attendees to our popular lunch. We were placed at the other end of the bar today and this proved to be most popular with all those attending.
Pasty Evening 20th April at 7.30 in our Bearwood home.
Our pasties arrived from Cornwall, on time, once again. Only 15 of us were able to enjoy them on the night, though there were others who would have one later.
After a few administration concerms, our evening started with a Macro photographic quiz, which really stirred the grey matter.
This was followed by our heated pasties and a super selection of desserts provided by our Ladies. A raffle completed the proceedings.
Annual Skittles and Fish and Chip supper
18th May 2023
Once again we visited the Bluebird social club at Longham. 21 Intrepid bowlers attended.
The bowling was quite varied, but that did not matter as the excellent Fish and Chips made up for any disappoijtment.
Every year there has to be a winner and a runner up.

Our final event of the season will be our Annual General Meeting in January.
Annual General Meeting
Held at our Bearwood home 19th February
After some confusion with a double booking we commenced business in an alternative room.
Our last business of the evening was a presentation, by our president Bob Cooper of a well deserved certificate and award of life membership to a long standingd and very active member - Aubrey Lane.
The meeting closed in our normal room with soup and the consumption of a lovely selection of cakes. During which we were able to have a pleasant informal 'catch up'.
